![]() ![]() By rewarding a vicious crime with an equally vicious punishment, a person unwittingly becomes just as bad as their worst enemy. The skewed logic of revenge is this: In the name of sisterhood, Bilz has attempted to hurt another woman. The Circle of Revenge is the emotional boomerang effect vengeful acts tend to have upon the people who commit them. Bilz, I realized, was in no condition to be lectured - she was caught in the Circle of Revenge. I was tempted to point out that contacting a newspaper with lurid gossip about your husband's famous girlfriend is a funny way of "sticking together," but the moment didn't seem right. But she also added, strangely, "I'm doing this because I feel that women shouldn't be beating each other up, we should be sticking together, not competing for men and working against each other." She said that by going public, her main objective is to make both her husband and his high-profile lover suffer. Hell hath no fury, as they say, and to her credit, Bilz admitted it. What had moved this woman, who is currently on an extended leave nursing her infant and terminally ill mother, to such a bald-faced act of retribution? When I called and asked, Bilz giggled and pertly replied, "Well you know what they say, there's nothing like sweet revenge." It wasn't so much the news of the affair that intrigued me (husband-ditches-pregnant-wife-for-ballerina seemed like common enough gossip), but the letter itself. Glasco has been involved with my husband and is in part responsible for the separation and pending divorce of our family (our eight-month-old daughter)." "I am, however, writing to inform the public and her so-called 'Support Network' about Ms. Glasco's lawsuit against the National Ballet of Canada," Bilz typed on plain paper. "I am not writing you with information regarding Ms. ![]() (Earlier this week an arbitrator ordered that Glasco be reinstated as a principle dancer for the company while her case is being heard.) Namely, filing a court affidavit about her husband's alleged relationship to Kimberly Glasco, the former National Ballet dancer who is, famously, suing for wrongful dismissal.
